Tourism Regulatory Authority(TRA) only rated three hotels at the coast with five star establishments namely; Leopard Beach Resort, Swahili Beach
in Diani, Kwale county and Medina Palms, Watamu in Kilifi county.
Four star hotels
included Leisure lodge, Golf Resort and
Baobab Beach Resort in Kwale, Turtley Bay Beach club and Diamond Dream of Africa, Kilifi. For the
lodges category; Sarova Shaba Game
lodge, Isiolo county and Aberdares
county club were included. The camps included
Ashnil Samburu Camp(Isiolo), Sweetwaters Serena Camp(Nanyuki) and
Samburu Intrepids Camp(Samburu).
Three star hotels
included Pangoni Beach Resort(Mombasa), Indian Ocean Beach Resort(Kwale) and
Mnarani Club (Kilifi).Others were Crystal Bay Beach Resort, Sandies Tropical
Village(Kilifi), and Mombasa`s Isinya Resorts. Three star lodges include
Samburu Simba lodge(Laikipia), Serena Mountain lodge(Nyeri), and Ashnil Aruba
lodge(Taita-Taveta).
